Angelina Jolie as Maleficent (film 2014)
Disney’s live-action, 3-D fantasy film “Maleficent,” due in theaters March 14, 2014, is an alternate retelling of the story of “Sleeping Beauty.” Instead of Princess Aurora, the story focuses on the life of her nemesis Maleficent — depicted in the 1959 animated Disney classic — and what drove her to cast an evil spell.
All indications point to Maleficent being more sympathetic in this updated version — or at least better understood.
Omg!!!!
It is so hard to see you with her, to hear you talk about her. To watch you light up for her, when all I want is for you to light up for me. To love me like you love her. It is funny to think that we are the same. We have the same interests and do the same things. But still, it is her that has all of your attention and I wish I could say you do the same when you see me. For eight months I have been trying to catch you. I am always trying to be there for you. I know now that we cannot be. Despite all we have in common, she caught you long before I came along. In the end I know it is okay because right now, in another world, in all the others except this one, where I was too late, we are together. We are happier than she will ever make you. I smile when I see you because I know this, even though she caught you first in this world and the pain is unbearable, in another world you are mine. My only wish is in this world, you are mine and I am yours. Maybe someday you will see this, that is okay, I am here waiting for you, always loving you. Here, now and forever, even in another world. I will never give up hope in this one, I will keep trying to prove we belong. Know this, cherish it, when you finally understand, we belong.
